Annecy working weekend

From 6-9 November, four representatives from Annecy came to Cheltenham on a working visit.  The delegation consisted of Mireille Brasier – Annecy’s first deputy Mayor, Valerie Gonzo-Massol – chair of the Annecy/Cheltenham twinning committee, Arthur Cheul –  member of the twinning committee and Laurent Terrier – twinning officer.  Visits to Pates Grammar school, the university’s film and media department and National Star College were all arranged, to progress talks on developing links and exchanges with these establishments.  Meetings also took place with the Cheltenham Symphony Orchestra and the Cheeserollers (a small folk group of Morrismen) who are visiting Annecy shortly.  The annual meeting between Annecy and Cheltenham twinning representatives took place on Saturday 8 November when future joint projects were discussed as well as initial plans for commemorating 60 years of twinning between the two towns in 2016.  The delegation attended the concert at the Town Hall given by the Cheltenham Bach Choir and the Göttingen Stadtkantorei  on the Saturday evening.
